Recent Reads-January ’18

Hi, friends!

Wow, I can’t believe how long it has been (embarrassingly so) since I have put up a blog post. I really don’t have an excuse except just for getting too busy!

I wanted to pop on here and share some reads with you that I have enjoyed since Christmas, but before I do, I just want to share this verse with you:

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

This month’s books have been mostly a series, so I share the series, one stand-alone, and one non-fiction that has really been a source of encouragement and joy this month.

First off, the series that made me lose approx. 10 hours of sleep (possibly more, can’t remember. Thanks, coffee).

I have a really bad tendency to re-read all my favorites from the same author. But this author I have owned several books for a while and just now got around to reading them because my mom recommended them to me (she also, is recognized in IKEA as the lady who asks for help pulling down bookshelves to purchase 🙂 ).

The Porter Brothers Series, by Becky Wade

Although I enjoyed all of these, the first two (Undeniably Yours & Meant to Be Mine) were my favorites. The last two in my opinion are a little more serious, but still just as excellent reads.

Book #1 is Undeniably Yours (definitely read this one first!)

Book #2 is Meant to be Mine (so hard to put down)

Book #3 is A Love Like Ours

Book #4 is Her One and Only

By the way, I link all my recent reads to amazon, because that’s where I purchase the majority of books. Free, two day shipping is a perk, plus I can’t find books cheaper anywhere else unless I have a gift card!

My stand-alone pick for this month is one of my favorite author’s new releases:

cv-sweetbriar-cottage This book is so good, you will not be able to put it down. It is a heartwarming and real story that is easily relatable. You will love it! (P.S. it has almost 5 stars reviewed by 238 people on Amazon)

Read Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter

And finally, my non-fiction pick for this month:

This book has been such an inspiration to me lately and really is growing me in my relationship with the Lord. Give it a read!

That’s it for this month! Check out my instastories for what I am currently reading instead of a month to month update!
