Hi friends!
It’s been a little bit since I’ve had time to read and put together a monthly book pick blog post. I am so excited about the novels I’ve reading lately and I can’t wait to pick these posts up regularly again. I love sharing my favorite reads with you all because reading is my absolute favorite pastime and I try to carve time for it as much as possible. It’s so hard, but even just squeezing in a chapter or two a day helps me refresh my mind and calm my scattered mom brain down.
This month’s book picks are really really good. A lot of my favorite authors released books while my husband and I transitioned to having a newborn in the house, so I am just now getting around to catching up on a few great reads!
Weddings by Design series by Janice Thompson
This is a 4 book series that is delightful to read from start to finish. They remind me of a lighthearted Hallmark movie series. We obviously know the guy and girl end up together, but it’s the process, the story line and the imagery that makes it an enjoyable read despite knowing the outcome. You can technically read them in any order, but it will give away the plot in the previous book. As a mom, these were easy fun reads to put down and pick up in between nursing and nap times.
One Thing I Know by Kara Isaac
Kara Isaac has been one of my favorite authors for a while now, and this recent read was no disappointment! It’s about a woman and her aunt Donna and their life being relationship coaches, only they’ve deceived everyone into thinking that the real coach is Donna while it’s really Rachel. Add in the love interest trying to discover their secret and you’ve got a fun read! Definitely check this one out.
This book is the second in a 3 book series about 3 sisters falling in love. I’ve read the first and it was great, so I borrowed this one from my mom and it was even better! It’s about a football star recovering from an injury and a model in hiding who team up together to help the football player’s niece discover a family secret. The plot line is so cute and I read this one pretty quick cover to cover.
The Words Between Us by Erin Bartels
I can’t sing enough praise about how much I loved this book! This last one I read this month I probably read in a single day while my son napped and while I nursed. It is a beautiful read, from the syntax and imagery, to the duel story line of the protagonist. If you read anything from this blog post, let it be this one because it won’t be a disappointment! It’s a story about a woman whose parents were convicted of murder and her life rebuilding afterwards.
I hope you check these books out and enjoy them as much as I did! Love sharing my reads with you all!
